On October 25, 2025, the 6th International Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences (ISAIMS 2025) was successfully held at the Huangjiahu Campus of Wuhan University of Science and Technology. The conference was hosted by Wuhan University of Science and Technology, organized by the School of Computer Science and Technology and the Institute of Big Data Science and Engineering. It also received strong support from multiple domestic and international institutions, including Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the School of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Wuhan University of Technology, and the National Institute of Health Data Science at Sun Yat-sen University. The successful convening of this conference has established a high-level communication platform for scholars in the field of medical artificial intelligence worldwide.

At the opening ceremony, Shen Jiwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Wuhan University of Science and Technology, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests who had traveled from afar on behalf of the university. He introduced that in recent years, the university has closely followed its discipline development framework of "One Core (Major Metallurgy), Two Wings (Major Health, Big Data), and Three New Fields (New Engineering, New Medical Sciences, and New Humanities)," focusing on national strategies and local needs. The university has vigorously promoted interdisciplinary integration and achieved remarkable results in cultivating top-notch innovative talents, organizing high-level research, and producing original outcomes. He expressed hope that this conference would serve as an opportunity to establish a high-level platform for inter-university exchanges, deepen the interdisciplinary development of medicine and information technology, jointly explore cutting-edge applications of artificial intelligence in the medical field, and thereby foster the cultivation of innovative talents and high-level research collaborations. This would further promote the deep integration of industry, academia, research, and practical application.

Huang Zhisheng expressed sincere gratitude to the host, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, for its meticulous organization. He fondly recalled the profound collaborative friendship of over a decade between Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Wuhan University of Science and Technology, and praised the fruitful outcomes of the successfully implemented Sino-Dutch Master’s Program in Artificial Intelligence between the two institutions. He noted that the convening of this conference not only reflects the shared commitment of all parties to the field of smart healthcare but also lays a solid foundation for future international cooperation. He looked forward to the participants building consensus, exchanging ideas, and jointly advancing the application of artificial intelligence in areas such as urban mental health, all while using technology to safeguard life and well-being.

During the keynote report session of the conference, leading scholars from both China and abroad shared their latest research findings and practical experiences on the frontiers of medical artificial intelligence. These experts included Professor Pan Yi from Shenzhen Institute of Technology, Professor Huang Zhisheng from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, Professor Jin Yinghui from Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University, Professor Chen Qingcai from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), and Professor Huang Zhengxing from Zhejiang University.

The conference specially featured a thematic forum on "Synergistic Paradigms of KG and LLM in Clinical AI Research and Application." Experts and scholars, including Professor Huang Zhisheng, Professor Wei Wei from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Chen Qingcai from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), and Professor Qiu Chen from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, engaged in insightful exchanges and forward-looking discussions on this topic. The on-site atmosphere was vibrant, significantly promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.

This grand event gathered over a hundred experts and scholars from universities, research institutions, and enterprises both domestically and internationally. During the conference, 19 outstanding scholars presented their innovative research in specialized areas of medical artificial intelligence through oral presentations. To encourage academic innovation, the conference awarded the "Best Paper Award" and the "Best Oral Presentation Award," with honorary certificates presented to the winners during the closing ceremony.
